Statement

Having fun is what it's all about. Our world is so hard, that I try to brighten it with art that makes you think, laugh and feel happy.

My paintings may seem random because of the loose handling of the paint, but the art is well thought out and compositionally sound. I usually start with a tonal canvas and begin to build texture with charcoal, oil paints and glazes. I encourage drips and splashes because they portray the beauty of the paint itself, which is equally as important to me as the subject I am painting. My work is full of energy and movement with a bold looseness and a strong emphasis on drawing.

My subject matter changes with my moods- All the time. I find myself coming back to familiar subject matter, such as children, people, animals and music.

My art is not limited to painting. I also venture into collage, printmaking, photography, illustration, portraits, murals, and interior faux finish. I am always looking for new challenges to keep me growing and improving as an artist.

"Life is too short to take so seriously", is my motto. That's what I try to convey in my artwork.
